Acer palmatum 'Wild Fire'

This new introduction is quickly becoming popular. 'Wild Fire' was selected by Jason Stevens of North Carolina. The outstanding feature of this variety is the bark, which is a striking orange yellow color on older branches while younger branches are coral-red. The contrast between the two branch colors is quite striking and this is where it gets its name. Fast-growing and heat tolerant. The leaves are green during the spring and summer turning to bright yellow or orange in the fall.
