Acer palmatum 'Whitney Red'

'Whitney Red' is a nice upright growing Japanese Maple with bright red leaves in the spring. It is said to hold its color well into the summer. The fall color is bright scarlet. It was originally selected because it holds onto its leaves later into the fall season compared to other 'Bloodgood' types. Introduced by Whiney Gardens in Brinnon, Washington.
