A rare Japanese Maple with outstanding features. The colors of 'Usu midori' are one of a kind! The spring leaves are dark yellow with shades of apricot and orange. As the spring progresses, the color will change to bright yellow. In summer, the top leaves will get sun-washed to a bright, pale yellow. This effect is quite dramatic. The fall color is bright orange-red. This variety needs protection from the afternoon sun. Discovered in 1988 by Mr. Kishida of Tokyo, Japan. 'Usu midori' is still rare in the trade.
