Acer palmatum 'Sunset'

A dwarf, lace-leaf Japanese Maple with a semi-weeping habit. 'Sunset' is one of the most colorful dissectum types. The spring color is soft yellow-green with orange hues. In summer, green comes into the leaf and the color intensifies as rose highlights will begin to create a beautiful contrast on the leaf reminiscent of a sunset. The color can be hard to describe and must be seen in person to be fully appreciated. The fall color is red. This variety needs protection from the afternoon sun in hot summer climates.
