Acer palmatum 'Ruby Stars'

A dwarf, upright Japanese Maple. This variety is also known as 'Beni hoshi' (Ruby Stars in Japanese). The growth habit is somewhat irregular with branches that will turn and grow in different directions. The small, amoenum-type leaf is accented by bright green veining. The spring color is wonderful cherry-red which softens to light orange-red in summer. The fall color is bright golden yellow. 'Ruby Stars' is also popular for bonsai work. Introduced by Del Loucks in 1996 and continues to be a popular variety.
