Acer palmatum 'Rainbow'
An upright-growing Japanese Maple with extraordinary variegation. One of the most sought-after varieties by collectors! The spring and summer color is red with pink variegation on a large Matsumurae-type leaf. The amount of pink will vary from leaf to leaf. Unfortunately, Rainbow is prone to reversion. It will grow vigorous branches that completely lack any pink color. This reversion is permanent so those branches will need to be removed or they will become too dominant. Fall color is red and orange. Discovered by Talon Buchholz.
