Acer palmatum 'Nakakamado Weeping'

A weeping Japanese Maple with palmate leaves. This very old variety has a long and storied history going back hundreds of years in Japan. The original tree in the Fukushima prefecture of Japan is said to be the oldest Japanese Maple in the world. The growth habit is similar to 'Ryusen' but does not weep quite as heavy. The leaves are green in spring and summer changing to yellow-orange in the fall.
