Acer palmatum 'Mikawa kaen'

A dwarf Japanese Maple with a compact growth habit. 'Mikawa kaen' is an exciting introduction from Crispin Silva in Oregon. The spring color is a unique bronze with subtle orange-gold overtones. The color turns to green for summer before changing to bright orange-red in the fall. This variety has the same layered leaves and compact form as 'Mikawa yatsubusa'. The name translates as "Mikawa Gold".
