Acer palmatum 'Lily Pad'
A dwarf Japanese maple with outstanding and unique features. 'Lily Pad' was discovered as a branch sport on 'Mikawa yatsubusa' and shows the same compact growth habit and layered leaves. The difference is that the leaves are more dissected and have a distinct ruffle, giving a flower-like appearance. The spring color is lush, bright green with yellow variegation on the lobes. The color display holds throughout the summer months. The fall color is orange-red. Discovered at Don Schmidt Nursery in Oregon.
