Acer palmatum 'Kenbu'

A linerilobum-type Japanese maple with an upright growth habit. 'Kenbu' is a very unique variety. The leaves are deeply dissected and strap-like, giving this tree the appearance of bamboo. The leaf lobes are not quite as thin as many of the other linearilobum types. The spring color is bright green with rose highlights. The summer color is green before changing to bright red for the fall. One of the best features is the beautiful contrast between the dark purple bark and green leaves.
