Acer palmatum 'Ikandi'

'Ikandi' is one of the most beautiful maples. In spring the color is pink with dramatic reticulation on the leaves. The color eventually fades to green with white variegation in summer. New growth in midsummer will be plain green but don't worry, that same growth will be pink the following year. Fall color is a mix of orange and yellow. Like other 'Higasa yama' types, the variegation will be less prominent in hotter spring climates. Introduced by Talon Buchholz.
