Acer palmatum 'Hitode'

An upright-growing Japanese Maple with medium vigor. This rare variety has leaves that curl downward resembling a starfish. The spring color is green with darker red edges changing to medium green for summer. The fall color is yellow-orange. The name means "starfish". Introduced by Talon Buchholz.
