Acer palmatum 'Beni hime'

This Dwarf tree is very delightful. The tiny leaves emerge in spring with an intense cherry-red color. The leaf color will constantly change during the spring eventually turning green with red highlights for summer. Fall brings on vibrant red tones. The name means "red dwarf" in Japanese. One of the most beautiful dwarf Japanese Maples. Very sought after for bonsai work and generally will perform best as a container plant. Not as hardy in the landscape, especially in colder climates.
