Acer palmatum 'Tokyo yatsubusa'

This newer Japanese Maple selection has a wonderful dwarf habit and small leaves. The spring and summer color is green changing to bright red in the fall. We have observed that this variety tends to push new growth in summer, which is striking bright green and adds contrast against the older leaves. 'Tokyo yatsubusa' is most comparable to "hime types" but the branches are more vertical and the growth is more vigorous.
