Acer palmatum 'Purple Curl'

An upright Japanese Maple with unique leaves and color. 'Purple Curl' is truly one of a kind! The colors and textures are hard to describe but I will do my best. The lobes curl inward giving the leaves a boxy appearance. The surface of the leaf is bumpy, which makes it look thick. The spring color starts out purple-red but as the summer progresses, the color pattern becomes freckled and patchy with shades of green, burnt orange, rose, and chartreuse. The fall color is bright shades of scarlet and orange. Discovered by Talon Buchholz.
