Acer palmatum 'Octopus'

A weeping, lace-leaf Japanese Maple. The branches of this variety are very heavily weeping and vigorous. They will often crawl across the ground below the canopy of the tree. This is where it gets the name 'Octopus'. Spring color is bright red eventually fading to bronze red by late summer. The fall color is bright scarlet. Introduced by Happy Hollow Nursery in Oregon.
