Acer palmatum 'Mystic Mikawa'

A slow-growing Japanese Maple with a dwarf habit and dramatic color. A very sought-after variety, but still rare in the trade. 'Mystic Mikawa' originated as a seedling of 'Mikawa yatsubusa'. It has the same compact growth habit and layered leaves as its parent. The spring color is soft orange-rose which will remind you of a flower coming into bloom. The color slowly fades to green for summer before changing to orange-red in the fall. Discovered by Crispin Silva.
