Acer palmatum 'Mikawa Yatsubusa'

A dwarf Japanese Maple with a compact growth habit. This is the favorite variety of many collectors and nurserymen - including myself! Older container specimens are highly coveted in the nursery trade. 'Mikawa yatsubusa' has tightly layered leaves that look like shingles on a roof. The growth is slow. The spring color is bright pea-green turning to medium green for summer. The fall color is vibrant orange-red. The combination of the layered leaves and "oriental" looking growth habit make this one of the best Japanese Maples ever discovered. Durable in most any climate.
