An upright-growing Japanese Maple. This variety is similar to 'Higasa yama' but the variegation is more pronounced. There has been confusion recently that this variety is similar to 'Mikawa yatsubusa' but this is not true. The growth habit is upright and medium fast. The spring leaves are green with rose and white variegation. The variegation is always better once the tree is established in the landscape. Trees coming from the shaded nursery often will not show much variegation. The fall color is brilliant shades of orange and red.
