Acer palmatum 'Fairy Hair'

A dwarf Japanese Maple with delicate thread-like leaves. This unique collector's variety is sure to captivate anyone who lays eyes on it. At first glance, it's hard to believe that it's a Japanese Maple. The leaves are green during the spring and summer turning orange for the fall. The root development and growth are slow, making it somewhat difficult to grow when it's young. Older specimens seem to be fairly hardy, but overall it seems to perform best as a container tree with well-drained soil. A wonderful choice for bonsai work. Discovered by Talon Buchholz.
