A dwarf, mounding lace-leaf Japanese Maple. 'Baby Lace' was the first witches broom mutation discovered on a dissectum. The leaves are small and have a distinct curl. The spring color is rose-red turning to red-orange mixed with green. The leaf stems are light green, which gives another layer of color contrast. Fall color is orange-yellow. This variety is very slow growing and is very sensitive to wet roots, especially during colder months. It does best as a container tree with well drained soil. Introduced by Billy Schwartz of Green Mansions Nursery.
