Acer palmatum 'Akane'
This upright Japanese Maple is popular for its unrivaled early spring color. Small leaves emerge in spring showing a bold and bright apricot color. The color changes to orange-yellow and then yellow-green for summer. The name in Japanese means "glowing evening sky." Fall will bring a soft orange-yellow. This variety is prone to leaf burn in summer if planted in too much sun.
