A slow-growing, dwarf Japanese Maple. Also known by the name 'Snow Kitten'. This variegated Mikawa type is one of the most sought-after of all Japanese Maples. New leaves in spring are pink, white, and green. Like the other Mikawa types, the leaves overlap each other like shingles on a roof. Very difficult to graft making it rare in the trade. 'Yuki yama' can be difficult to grow because root development is slow making it sensitive to over-watering. Best grown in a container with well-drained soil. Discovered by Larry Stanley.
