Acer palmatum 'Tattoo'
'Tattoo' is a very special little tree, featuring leaves that are pointed and more serrated than other Mikawa types. Originated as a seedling of 'Mikawa yatsubusa' but is more dwarf. The spring color is bright green with a fleeting thin red border around the leaf. The summer color is medium green before changing red-orange in the fall. The yearly growth is only an inch or two. Perfect for bonsai, container gardening, or a small space in the landscape. Discovered by Billy Schwartz.
