A dwarf, lace-leaf Japanese Maple with weeping branches. 'Shu shidare' is one of the best dissectum varieties but is somewhat under-appreciated. The spring color is orange-red with rose and pink highlights on the leaf. This color combination is further enhanced by the dark red young branches and stems, which cause the leaf color to "pop". The summer color is green with an orange hue. The fall color is brilliant orange-red. The name means "orange weeping". Discovered by Talon Buchholz.
